How to Edit and Save Chart Layouts Using MetaTrader Profiles

Hey propips! We are back with another MetaTrader tutorial. This time, we are going to learn how to edit and save your custom chart layouts using the Profile function. This is helpful when you want to keep a clean, organized setup for specific currency pairs with different timeframes. Once you learn this, you will not need to repeat the layout setup every time you open your platform.

Step 1: Open a Chart for Your Chosen Pair

Let us say you want to monitor AUDUSD. You want to track this single pair but across multiple timeframes.

To start, right click AUDUSD in the Market Watch panel, then select Chart Window. This will open one chart.

Repeat this process three more times until you have four separate AUDUSD charts open.

Step 2: Set Different Timeframes for Each Chart

Now that all four AUDUSD charts are open, you can assign different timeframes to each one.

Click M5 for the first chart, M15 for the second, H1 for the third, and H4 for the fourth. This gives you a better overall view of how the pair is moving in the short and medium term.

Step 3: Arrange Your Charts on One Screen

To neatly organize these four charts on one screen, click the Arrange Windows button at the top of your MetaTrader platform.

Alternatively, go to the Window tab in the top menu and select Tile Windows. This will instantly arrange your charts in a tiled layout.

You can also resize each chart manually by clicking and dragging their edges, depending on your preferred layout.

Step 4: Save the Layout Using Profiles

Once you are happy with how your charts look, go to the File menu in the upper left corner.

From there, click Profiles, then select Save As.

Enter the Profile Name you want for this layout. For example, you might name it AUD Multi TF if you are tracking multiple timeframes.

Click OK, and your layout is now saved.

Step 5: Access Your Saved Layout Anytime

Once saved, your custom layout will now appear in your Profile list. You can load it anytime without needing to open and arrange everything again.

This is a great way to stay efficient and organized, especially when monitoring multiple pairs or timeframes regularly.

That’s It

Now you know how to set up, organize, and save your chart layouts using the Profile feature in MetaTrader. This tool saves you time and helps you manage your trading view better.
